Blasphemous, but for a slightly recycled idea this wasn’t actually a bad little flick.
A limited set and minimal number of actors manage to make this horror an intriguing watch. Some real striking moments, and fronted by one of those ‘I’ve literally never seen her before, but she’s brilliant!’ actresses.
You can’t really go wrong with Sam Raimi, and he walks a very fine line here given its concept which plunges religion into sheer dread.
